Drawing on the Japanese notion of Komorebi - the light that falls through leaves - and the idea that complexity increases steadily over time, the Canopy series asks the viewer to look again at a most familiar subject. Across species, sites and seasons, both variation and shared structure emerge.
The layering is unmistakably a human hand laid over natural form. Each work is less an image than a construct: it evolves with placement, with the shift of ambient light through the day, and with the movement of the viewer.
